Freschfield's Journey
Originally, Freschfield was a French construction company founded by the George and Stanley Simon in 1901 in Paris. The company was focused on Sustainable Building Practices in the early days of what is known today as Green Construction. The Simon family kept the business closely held until the invasion of Paris by the Nazi’s and had to flee given their Jewish ancestry and close the business.
The business ceased operating until the liberation of France in June 1944 by the Allied forces. Thereafter, the Simon family attempted to resurrect the company, but France was in too much dissarray and the company was closed and went dormant for over a decade.
Freschfield Corporation
Subsequently in 1959 Walter St. James of the St. James Family of Cardiff, Wales purchased the Simon Family business in London with the proviso that the purchaser would continue to maintain the sustainable practices that previously Freschfield had developed and pioneered. Thereafter, the St. James family assumed control of the enterprise and maintain that control today.
In 2006 the St. James family decided to diversify the Freschfield company as a stand alone holding company, whereby, it would own, control and invest in sustainable companies with a focus on the US market. Tasked with that responsibility was Dr. Allen St. James of the St. James Family. Freschfield was incorporated in the US and set up its first office in Austin Texas as
Freschfield Corporation.
Pioneering a Zero-Carbon Revolution
Then in 2016 the company was moved to Nashville Tennessee for strategic business reasons and renamed Freschfield Technologies Corporation. Today the company’s trade style is known as Freschfield Future, denoting its ambition to build and invest in Zero carbon-based technologies. Freschfield Future’s primary mission is to create a Zero Carbon Future for everyone.
